The Basics

A Ghost is the manifestation of the disembodied spirit or soul of a deceased person or animal – also called an Apparition.

Ghost Hunt or Ghost Hunting is the process of investigating locations haunted by ghosts. Ghost Hunts are also called Investigations.

Haunted Location is a site believed to be a center of paranormal phenomena containing one or multiple ghosts or poltergeists. Haunted Houses are the most common type of haunted locations.

Fetter is a metaphorical term meaning what restricts or binds a ghost to a specific location.

Ghost Hunter is a person who travels to haunted sites and attempts to collect documenting evidence to either support or debunk ghosts and paranormal activity.

Paranormal describes unusual experiences that lack scientific explanation or phenomena outside of science’s current ability to explain or measure.

Manifestation is a paranormal phenomenon where ghosts or paranormal abilities appear into existence.

Parapsychology is a branch of psychology that seeks to investigate the existence and causes of psychic abilities and the existence of ghosts using the scientific method. A Parapsychologist is a degreed scientist who documents and studies the evidence for paranormal phenomena.

Psychic refers to a claimed ability to perceive information hidden from the normal senses through extrasensory perception. There are different types of psychics including mediums, empaths and clairvoyants.

Ghost Hunting Team, Group, Club, Organization or Society is a collection of fellow ghost hunters who come together to share ideas, stories and hunt for ghosts.
